WoLD Reference Challenge 2 - Evo

WoLD Reference Challenge 2 - Evo

    Name: Abandoned Movie Theatre
    Editor: Hammer
    Start Date: 15/3/10
    End Date:

Hi everyone, this will be my first go at a reference challenge, wish me luck :)
I've not yet decided on a definitive time plan for the project, so I'll leave it out for now.

    Photographic reference:

    Step 1 (~1.5 hrs)

Other than the large windows either side of the main entrance, it's pretty much dead on scale as far as I can see. More to come!
Just because it's not nice doesn't mean it's not miraculous.

I had a bit of a play with the lighting, too ^.^.

A good start, Evo. The scale is looking good at the front. Will you be altering the depth of the building? - it's a lot further back in the reference.

Thanks, and yeah - it's actually the first thing I did after posting my last picture. More soon to come, I'd like to post screenshots frequently rather than after a large period of time working on it. I'd like to go back to this thread and see it slowly coming together.

Changed the game from L4D to L4D2 to allow for day-time skybox textures.. duh! I'm vaguely working with the lighting, It'll be tweaked after the texture stage no doubt.

Made the road/wall go all the way around and messed with the lighting again. You can see the trees at this angle, too.

Thanks Smog, although texturing isn't exactly my forte :s

It looks good, but those upper windows look off scale, but I can't figure out if it's cos of the cam fov.
