How about the one from the VDC? I. myself, didn't realize the site was updated until recently.

Unfortunately, that wiki tutorial is rather incomplete... It may just confuse people more, even if it points you in the right direction. I dunno if I'll get to writing a tutorial that soon, but the way I got it working was by creating a test map and messing about with all the stuff in Deadline 2... It's a royal pain, but play with it enough, and you'll get it working. 8-)
Would you please write one up, Oilcake? Because I've tried following the VDC and the Deadline example and there is clearly something missing from my set up. I haven't found any missing connections, but when the survivors leave my designated safe zone, the round won't start, the glowing barrier stays and the countdown waits till it ends before the round begins.
I hate to hijack someone's thread, buts relevant to the topic.

Yeah, I could try. To be honest, I was hoping Alex would do one soon! I'm pretty lost in there, too, but I can write my steps into a decent tutorial, and then other people can comment if they see I'm doing something not quite right. After all, I do have it working, even if the guts aren't necessarily pretty.
Basically what I've done is use a combination of the old method (everything in one map) and Valve's new instancing method. Mostly the old method is what I used (go figure, less learning that way), but I plan on doing some test maps soon to get more used to calling things into a map using instances.
So, I can't guarantee I'll get to this that quickly, but I'll try asap! Cheers!
Scavenge was a pain to set up and understand, even with wiki it wasn't clear what to do and how to make it work.
I'll try to cover it as soon as I can.![]()
