Post in the shadow of the dragon king (UDK Scene)

    Hey hey hey

Been working on another scene on and off for the last 2 weeks. things have been/are quite hectic what with leaving university for good and unpacking stuff to then have to repack stuff to head up to Dundee for 9 weeks for a certain event you may or may not be aware of.

Either way much like the forgotten tree thing i did during the final weeks of my dissertation i've had another striking scene i've been chipping away at. again nothing too fancy just something to chill out to while making. not been posting up the work in progress throughout due to complacency/forgetting to/general tom foolery. however the scene is nearing "completion" (ish) (sort of) and would love some feedback suggestions

also if anyone has an idea on how to resolve an issue i keep having pop up (asked on the epic forums as well)

here is the sky in my map. black clouds everywhere

here is the default "night lighting" new map with the same material/mesh set up.

    why the black clouds?

anyway here are the other shots of the level

Additional freeware meshes taken from turbosquid. the giant stone dragon is a retexture of the Blue Dragon from FF8.

    The narrative behind the scene

Ancient Giant Dragon Lord was killed with the enchanted sword that lies in stone at the base of the Dragon Lords Stone Corpse. the descendants of those who killed the dragon lord now live on the mountain, constantly watching and protecting the sword from those who would use it to free the dragon lord

(essentially it's the starting village from any jrpg)

    things to be added

*Additional mountains rising out of the fog
    *your suggestions here

So yes feedback very much appreciated and welcomed

    Lovely skylight.
However the dragon model could use some higher ress textures.

yeah but i'm quite awful at texturing/3d modelling and it's ripped from a game from the 90's.

any quick fixes you could recommend for a higher res?

There isnt a reall quick fix afaik to upscale to a higher res. But you could try "Lanczos" resampling. (for Gimp2)
I heard that G'Mic plugin for Gimp2 could also help out a bit. (Gimp is a free to use photoshop like program)
