[Portfolio] – Lucas 'Darbeenbo' Annunziata, Environment Artist

Hello there everyone! So I'm in the process of applying for junior environment artist positions, so I'm looking for some comments and critique on my site, every last bit of it from the work to the formatting of text.

I'll be graduating at the beginning of May with some experience, as I was an Assistant Artist at Codename Games for 4 months over this past summer, and I have been doing some contract work for Tale of Tales and Berserk Entertainment since around Christmas while I finish up school. I've had a few interviews so far, but nothing is set in stone.

I've also got my Demo reel hidden at the bottom of the page, as I need to have it online to graduate, but I am not done with intro scene to it, the Cyberpunk Hotel. I'd appreciate some feedback on that as well.

As for junior your folio is really good

web layout is good for folio, i won't touch that but i got some crits:

your still's are good but you need to work on texturing a lil more
    for instance:

that hospital stuff is good, but it is very noisy it is hard to see whats going on, i know you wanted to get that old/grunge look but still my eyes are lost there, so texture work on that place or some light work to make it more clear (on your reel it looks much better so maybe its just the case on stills)

but what bother me more is that you have untextured (?) stuff in your scenes

like that cannon, or most of the stuff in that sci/fi hotel ?? at some places it looks like it is only geo and some basic clean material, that doesn't look good at all if you want to showecase your work, even if you wanted get very unreal clear look work on a spec it can sell your work or kill it

but anyways good work and good luck with work

Your demo reel is looking pretty good! The one thing I would suggest is to show more of the entire 3D art pipeline into either your demo reel or into your website. Show the concept art/ or reference images that you used to create these objects, show off your texture sheets more, talk about the color palettes you have chosen and why. Being able to discuss your process in detail and showing how you have improved that process over the time you have been a 3D artist will show how professional and intelligent you are.

    Good luck!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback. When I've got some time to make the changes, I'll do everything I can to incorporate what you've said.

I just graduated college, and am working on an art test as we speak. Wish me luck

Well its been a bit over a year meow and I've recently done a portfolio cleanup and posted some of my work from Chivalry. I definitely need to get some more wireframes and uv flats in there, but I'm looking for some new feedback.
