I love the way this looks. The little touches that are already there are great: I love the blinds in the windows, for example. The only thing I can say is there's an absence of clutter, so maybe you can make the place look more "lived in"? I dunno, what does everyone else think?

Yeah, OJ really pays attention to the details! Sometimes a little too much! I agree, it definitely needs to feel more lived in. We're trying to convey to the player that people were living there but then suddenly left. Not necessarily everything all over the place, but like, a mug of cold coffee on the dining table..that kind of thing.

Oilcake was too quick I agree, it looks very good, but it also seem like the style itself consumes souls! I think you need to ad something that makes it feel like someone has been there before, it seems like there has never been anyone there at the moment. Sadly i just got home from work so i am pretty tired, i don't have any ideas, i'll be back later!

P.S that was a messy reply, i guess i really am tired D.S

Hmm... what I can't figure out is whether this is going to be more light-hearted, or dark, or delving into horror. Though I like it.

Well, in essence, Ether is a Sci-fi ghost story (Not futureistic sci-fi). There is definitely a dark edge to it although it is not horror. What we are trying to create with the interiors is a sense that people lived here, but no longer do. Theres two distinct styles in Ether which we may go in to later in the development or we may just wait until you guys actually play it!

It definitely needs more inside it, the images are definitely more WiP than finished things but you've given us something to think about guys!

Think about how they left and what consequence it had on the environment. If they left all of a sudden there would be a mess etc. I bet you know all this but think of it. The environment is sometimes the best storyteller.

Yeah definitely, I'll make sure we keep it in mind. Sometimes the most obvious things seem not so obvious when you've got your head so far into a project so any external feedback is great

Been keeping an eye on this for a while now! It's shaping up great! Are you using Kismet & matinee to change the camera angles at the beginning of the game as you get washed up on the beach?

Inspiring to see you guys do this, some friends an I have just started developing a First person puzzler using UDK so reading through this development thread is great! Thanks

    Trailer is looking good.

Also I love everything about this screenshot. The art style in general is really nice.
