UDK Pirate Challenge - MikeZ

So this challenge has been going on for a couple of weeks and ends on the 25th of July (2011). I was really interested in getting into challenges when they happen but as I began thinking about what I wanted to do I realized I really should focus on the existing projects that I have already begun. Ultimately I chose to challenge myself to see how much I could get done in just ONE sitting.

I thought, so that I could showcase as much in a small space as possible, I would do something like a rum cache with a small dock and have it look as though it is in a desolate desert island kind of area.

I figure before the 25th I will likely try to do more but have a look at what I did in JUST ONE SITTING!

So today is the second day I have had some free time to spend on the pirate challenge. I am happy to say that I built a few cool things with the resources available and made a cool little pirate trove where they hid their booty and supplies. I added a lookout tower (in crows nest fashion) and a gallows to allow for the symbolic "scarecrow" to fend off unwanted guests. This is s neat little area only accessible via row boat.

Again due to time constraints I will declare this a done deal just to say that I got to participate! I will be doing a short video too just for fun and to take advantage of some matinee tutorials!

I will do a post with my final selected shots after I complete the video.
