Cool, thanks to both of ya. The capturing is straight forward, but I'm gonna have to sit down with Kismet and Matinee some time after the comp to figure all that out for some camera animations. Oh well.

Voting starts tomorrow. Everyone gets one vote to choose their favorite. Voting will stop on saturday.

Could I make the suggestion that everyone makes more than one vote? It seems odd considering that the top five are in the running for prizes and if everyone gets to cast one vote, the top five could be one or two people that get voted for with high numbers and the rest with one vote each. Mainly my concern is with creating a proper representation of the top five with a one vote system. Does anyone share my concern?

I second the request to have multiple votes for the reason bluedude86 gives and also because I assume most competitors will vote for their own just as I will probably vote for my own and, I don't know about others, but I'd like another vote or few to give to other projects I think are awesome : )

I took part in a few level design challenges on an other forum (traitor! lol) and we found after switching from a one vote per person to a three vote per person system that a lot less entry's ending up with one or no votes and the number of votes between the top positions where much closer.

Maybe its not possible to change at this stage with Epic proving prizes though.

More than one vote would make sense if it's possible. It would give a much better representation of the votes. Especially with the amount of great work in this competition i would struggle to pick a definite winner with a single vote

Also I don't know how the voting system works but I don't really think it should be possible to vote for yourself, it defeats the whole idea of it being a community judged competition if everyone just votes for themselves

I couldn't agree with that more. I think voting a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place would be a much better system also.

Cool. Yea I was on game design too for the first year. Its kind of crap after that unless you want to learn nothing but character art.

I agree with that statement in a situation where everyone is allowed a single vote and the only people voting are the competitors who finished -- most would vote for themselves and you'd have a giant tie for last with the few people who decided not to vote for themselves determining the winners. However, as I understand it the voting is open to anyone registered on WoLD, in which case voting for oneself doesn't affect the outcome as much since you would have many more voters than the number of entries, thereby lessening the influence of each single vote.

Having multiple votes per voter has the same effect of reducing the influence of a single vote by introducing more votes and even more so by forcing those votes to be spread around (in the assumed situation where the voter must chose a different entry for each vote).
