I found some pictures of this really amazing looking courtyard in Portugal and decided that the shapes were familiar enough to me that it might make a good modeling exercise. I'm still really early in the first blocking-out phase, but it's going pretty decently and I thought I'd show where I am. I'm currently just working on blocking out the fountain at the center of the area:

As per usual, I'm building this the same way I do stuff at work - in pieces, which I then put together in ways to make the scene work:

Reminds me of the Three Musketeers where D'tangion has to meet the other three for duels, although it's nothing like it, it just has that feel.

The 1973 version with Micheal York, Oliver Reed and others - buy it, watch it, it's an absolute classic of a movie.

Things are moving along. I'm starting to block in that lower ring of archways and pillars. It's a really rough block in, using one large mesh for each chunk, just to try and get the area to feel right before moving ahead.

Each of those colored areas will get broken out into their own meshes when the time comes to remake everything properly.
