Edit: Please post comments to what I can do to improve on this. I will release a update when I do some more texture stuff.

Well besides texturing, you should fix up the lights. All you have is light entity's on the walls, add some props to go with the lights. Add a sun. Choose a more exciting skybox.
The layout and design of the map itself looks good and so far the map works. Good job on that.

Yeah. I'm far from done with it. I just placed the lights there to give me a idea how it would look. As for a sun and a skybox, I dont know how yet.

For a sun you use env_light or light_env. Something similar to that (I don't have Hammer open right now).

A killhouse it a cool setting for a L4D map. Will look forward to seeing more!

Tell us a bit about the idea for this - how did it come about, what inspired you, what you would like to achieve, the feel you want to get across.
From what I can make out, this is in it's earliest stage, so it's hard to get across the feel.
Additionally, I'd say that survivor maps are going to be pretty hard to balance due to it's nature; detail although essential will be secondary to, well, survival... :-)

Actually, I had this idea to do a remake of the Call of Duty 4 map for Left 4 Dead and the story was that you were left behind after the war ended. So i started with Killhouse since its the easiest map to make. I've been trying to do a lot of new things such as lighting and skyboxs so this is giving me a lot of practice. Since this is after the war Im trying to give a "dark" feeling like it is just you and your friends left.
Its still in its early stages but hopefully it will be done soon.
